Good Reads and Birthday Party

October 11, 2009 at 10:21 pm | In Birthdays, Family | Leave a Comment

Today, I went to my cousins’ birthday party – a pair of loving sisters who, despite being born on different years, share close dates with each other.

So this morning, with the bad habit of buying gifts at the very last minute (most of the times), went down to White Sands in search of the birthday gifts. Oh my God, looking for two gifts for a 5-year-old and a 7-year-old who are sisters is no easy task man.

Factors I had to take into consideration were:
- Size of gift must be the same with each other (otherwise one sister will be wondering ‘How come my gift is smaller than my other sister?’, then she will hate me forever.
- What they like
- Buying something that they will not throw everywhere
- Costs about the same for each

Of course, I am Ikhlas in buying those gifts. I just didn’t expect it would be this challenging. Hah. After an hour in Popular Bookstore, I got what-to-me-seemed-like-a-perfect-gift for both girls. Heehee. Damn impressed with myself.

After which I decided to drop by the library one level below, because it had been AGES since I stepped into that place. And I ended up with two awesome books. Malay books.

Haha. For someone whose Malay language is deteriorating, I am surprised as to how I even ended up at the Malay section in the first place.

AND AND, I went home with a Cup Walker in my right hand. *grins at Farha* I even did a mini-promotion to my Uncle who came from JB and he said it tasted so nice, knowing that he shouldn’t be drinking those things in the first place. But I made him. Hahahaa, evil me.

Anyways, I went to my cousins’ birthday party in the afternoon and I didn’t take much pictures because:
1) There were many people in the house.
2) The battery was going flat. *stares at Tok*
3) The birthday girls were running everywhere! (That I only managed to take a photo of one. -_-”)

But at least it was a great place to be at because it gave us a chance to catch up with my paternal relatives and meeting new people. =)

With that, Happy Birthday to Aufa and Ain Nur, study hard and be good always!

Happy 21st Birthday!

October 10, 2009 at 8:40 am | In Birthdays, Love | Leave a Comment

A few days ago, Tok broke out from his 20’s barriers and entered the 21 zone. He turned twenty one! The BIG TWO-ONE! *attempting to make him sound reaaaaally old* Haha.

But the fella spent his birthday in camp because he was having his reservist. With his fellow troop-mates taunting him with sabo-plans on 07th October, he had to prepare himself mentally and physically for what might come, the moment the clock struck 12am….

Which, later he found out that no sabo took place. Haha.

Well, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOK! Semoga dipanjangkan umur, dimurahkan rezeki, dan semoga selalu dibawah lindungan Allah s.w.t.

And I’m going to quote what your sister said in your birthday card, ’Kumpul duit banyak-banyak jadi cepat-cepat kawin!’

Hahahahahaha.

I Lup You!

I Lup You!

Can’t wait for you to end your reservist, then we can celebrate our birthdays. Now, I’m going to start on my birthday wish list. Hehe.

Me Want iPhone… Please?

September 25, 2009 at 10:02 pm | In Birthdays, Random Thoughts | 3 Comments

It going to be ten, and I am still in the office! What did I tell you? 5 days away from the office was simply too much for me. Luckily my instincts told me to go back to the office after I was done at client’s place today.

Am now waiting for Joyah to finish her stuffs and we shall cab home together later. All thanks to the centralized aircon in the office (which automatically switches off at 5pm), I am feeling super humid here. Gahh.

On another random note, I feel like getting an iPhone. Haha. It seems like I react pretty slowly to the surroundings around me. When iPhone was the talk of the town, I was like “What is so good about it? Pfffft.” NOW, when I see many people using it, and especially after touching J’s and Haney’s iPhones, I am itching to get one.

It’s those applications dude! AND the pweeeety-looking skins that’s selling almost everywhere! Now, how come they don’t have that for Sony Ericsson W595? Argh. I probably have to wait till my line expires…. which is like in a year and half time? Otherwise, I’d get screamed at by my dad again.

OR OR OR!

You can always get it for me for my BIRTHDAY…. *bats eyelids* Whahahahhaa… Hey, perhaps I should start my birthday list now eh?

Post-Birthday Post

November 2, 2008 at 2:10 pm | In Birthdays | Leave a Comment

I would like to apologise, for now that I think back, I may have been too much in my birthday wishlist.

Let’s recall, my wishlist consisted of tickets to Ungu’s Concert, Doraemon Ladies’ Watch, a Chomel Ring, a new sweater, something from Sugarush.sg, a trip to Swensen’s and a new pair of Crocs.

And I got…

From my mum -  a ladies watch (after contemplating and decided that a Doraemon watch would look extremely childish on me)

From my dad – a new pair of Crocs

From my friends – a nice Chomel bracelet and a Doraemon

From Mahirah – two brooches from Sugarush.sg, an awesome inspirational book and a bookmark

From Tok’s family – a Doraemon, a flower that says ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY’ and a nice blue, furry handphone chain

From myself – a new sweater (which was on a wicked sale) and a trip to Swensens (to celebrate three occasions at one go with Tok)

After some calculations, about 95% of the items have been checked. And I felt that I may have gone over-board. Tapi sekali sekala, takpe la kan? Nevertheless, I would like to thank all of those who actually went to buy me the presents. I love them very much. Although I have not found the heart yet to wear the Chomel bracelet (lawa sangat, macam sayang gitu nak pakai…), I assure you that I WILL wear it one day for a special occasion.

My mum confessed to me that my parents were about to buy me an iPod or a new digital camera… UNTIL I told them I wanted a watch and a new pair of Crocs. Hmm, should have kept my mouth shut eh? Hahaha… See, I told you, when it comes to my own birthday, I am just way too much.

If you recall one entry that I self-proclaim myself as ‘low-maintenance’ and you think the above paragraph contradicts the former… let me clarify – I AM low-maintenance on normal days. I just tend to be demanding on my birthday. That’s like once a year what, it’s harmless.  =P

Ok, birthday’s long over, and after those Hari Raya goodiesandwhatnots and the birthday cakeSandwhatnots and the Swensensandwhatnots all in one month, I have grown fatter!!!!!

Three people have commented that I have grown fatter. Two people commented that I have grown slimmer (Tok belonged to the category of the two people). Though Siti said that I should listen to Tok’s comment because he sees me more often than the other three people, I still feel fatter. =(

And when I got home just now, my mum (who apparently agreed with my aunt who belonged to the category of the three people) surprised me with a SLIMMING TEA. And my first question was,

“Is it nice or not?”

Come to think of it, I’d much prefer some tea or pill that makes me grow TALLER rather than slimming tea.

AAAAARGH. Know what, I ought to be slapped to regain my senses for not appreciating what God has already given me – my good health.

AAAAAARGH. I’m sorry, I’m just in a whiney mood today, maybe it’s the angst and unsatisfaction has got better hold of me. I need to go find my common sense again.

Right after I watch this Hindustan movie. Heh.

Raya Outing and a Birthday

October 25, 2008 at 1:36 pm | In Birthdays, Raya 2008 | 3 Comments

Yes, I managed to make it back here! Haha… It has been a crazy week for me and there is an outdated event that I meant to post it as soon as I am free.

And it was the Raya Outing that me and my polymates together with our significant others, on the 18th Oct, which started at my house. I cooked, mind you! Ok, only made the roti kirai… My mum made the rest (spaghetti, kari daging and salad), I think made her exhausted. Haha. Just before we left to the next house, my mum said, in SEVEN years, bring along our spouses and KIDS. Hmm.

The colour for that day was BLUE! Yes, for some reason, most wore blue… Initially I planned to wear blue, but since I had worn it for the previous jalan raya, I decided to go with my macamnaktunang baju raya. Heh.

This year, we hired a van, and please next year can we have cars since we have people among us who can drive??? Organizing director for next year jalan raya outing, please consider my suggestion. =)

We took lots and lots and lots of photos! Fuhyoh…. agaknya pengantin pun kalah norh. Some of us brought along cameras and the last time we checked with Farha at Herna’s house (5th house at the time, out of 10 houses), her camera alone had already taken about ONE HUNDRED photos. *Sesame Street Count Dracula laugh* So imagine all the cameras combined, the total number of photos…. I’ll say it again – agaknya pengantin pun kalah norh.

Unknown to me, they actually planned a surprise for me to celebrate my birthday in advance, at Amira’s house! I wanted to use the toilet in the kitchen, but then Amira said someone was in the toilet… Padahal, takder orang dalam toilet, but someone was taking out the cake in the kitchen la! Nasib baik aku tak terkucil kat living room kau, Mira… Lol. So while waiting and talking to Tok, I heard a birthday song and aku punya blur, I even asked Herna (to re-confirm),”Are you guys singing it to me?”

And it was a DORAEMON CAKE!!!!!!! I LOIKE! Sedap pulak tu… Not so much cream, like XXXXX cakes.

We ended everything by 11plus, and that is by far, the earliest time we ended our raya outing. Haha.

Then 22nd October finally came… Other than the birthday well wishes from family and friends, I didn’t feel anything special. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I was hoping for Tok to jump out from the bushes near my client’s place and surprise me with a bouquet of flowers, or a jet plane to fly and write ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIE!’ with smoke in the blue sky (that day was raining la)… it just felt like a normal ordinary day, however, it was a great normal day…

Because I got to see my Tok, I got to go back to the mosque (for SPIB) and see the staff and asatizahs, and I got to see the Azam kids. =D

And finally, my family ended the great day off with a birthday cake and some food from Old Chang Kee. After that was ZzZZZzzzZZ…

So before I end this post off, let me thank my friends for all your well birthday wishes and doas, Mahirah for your birthday card (sorry eh sebab ur Plan A spoil, haha.)…. take care and may God bless you. =)

My Way Advanced Birthday Present

October 11, 2008 at 1:17 am | In Birthdays | Leave a Comment

Just when I was finishing dinner yesterday after reaching home from work, my mum presented me with a birthday gift. And my birthday has yet to come. The funny thing was, she told me the price tag for the gift, and it costs more than my age. Lol.

It is a pair of ear rings, not ear studs, 18K Gold plated, came with a warranty card…. and they are sure heavy. Hey, who knows that in time to come, my ears could grow longer like those tribe people who put big thingees through their piercings to make it bigger, at the same time their ears stretches to become longer.

Oh dear, I would have slight difficulties wearing my tudung then.

Ok, scrape that picture of your minds already. The long/sagging ears thing ain’t going to happen. But after I wore them, I could see my mum’s ear-to-ear smile followed by a strict instruction,

“Jangan buka! Kalo buka, jaga kau!”

Oh man. On a different perspective, at least I made her happy.
