Funny People
August 17, 2009 at 3:01 pm | In Friends | Leave a CommentI was having lunch with my colleague at McDonalds, as she was looking out the window, stared for awhile and asked me,
“Look at that store. The queue’s so long. What’s so nice about pork floss?”
And I replied, “You asking me?” She said, “Erm… haha. Hmm, good question.”
Kwang kwang kwang… Haha.
Times Like That
June 13, 2009 at 12:07 pm | In Family, Friends, Love | 1 CommentThere are times in your life when one thing or one person is deemed the most important in your life, that you ‘discard’ everything else – family, friends, work, pets – or rather, other everything else that need your attention too.
Well…. our love for something/someone can make us blind at times. And it is times like these, we need a good and concerned family member/friend to give us a slap on the head and snap us back into reality that we need to spread our attention on others equally.
A Hearty Chat
June 2, 2009 at 9:39 am | In Friends | Leave a CommentLast night I had a hearty chat with my friend of 11 years and counting… B-E-G-U-M… BEGUM! *cheerleader jump*
Farhana: Girl… Do you know how to make a friendship band?
Me: Yeah. Why?
Farhana: Really? Teach me!
Me: I have to be there in front of you to show you. How come you want to learn how to make a friendship band?
Farhana: Because my nephew is learning how to make one right now… And I can’t remember…
Me: Eh!!! Is it Sharafi? How is he? (Us girls used to play with Farhana’s cousins and nephew when we met them. Haha.)
Farhana: Yaaa… He’s primary four and taller than me now…
Me: WHAT! What the hell did he eat man?
Farhana: *Sigh* Don’t ask… you will never grow taller even if you follow his diet.
Me: … He calls you a name right? What is it ah? (There was a name that Sharafi always call her, which we always irritated her with. Lol.)
Farhana: Eh! Dila’s getting engaged right?
Me: Don’t you dare change the subject Farhana! Is it ‘amma’?
Farhana: Are you going?
Me: Of course I am going! Is it ‘terri-amma’?
Farhana: No! What time are you going?
Me: DEI! What is it that he calls you?
Farhana: You almost got it correct… The first part was right…
Me: Amm… Amm… Ammu!!!!!
Farhana: Yeah… (with the dreadful tone in her voice. Hahaha.)
Me: Ammu! Ammu! Ammu!
Farhana: Stop it la dei!
Then I was telling her about my ‘most favourite’ client story….
Farhana: Don’t worry la girl, hang in there for now and I hope it will be over soon… Whenever you are stressful, just think of my long hair.
Me: ….
Though our conversation didn’t last long… I hope to meet up with her soon, cos she has yet to meet my Tok. Gasp, my friend of 11 years hasn’t met my Tok!
Mind Our Business
February 8, 2009 at 10:22 pm | In Friends, Uncategorized | Leave a CommentMaking friends with your colleagues and becoming colleagues with your friend(s) is really two different things. I learned about this when I got the opportunity to work with Siti at our current workplace.
Lucky for us, we have managed to draw a clear line between behaving crazy (as friends) and behaving professionally (as working colleagues). And MSN has made it easier for us, despite the occasionally sudden roar of laughter by ourselves…. which leaves our other colleagues giving us weird looks, as if something had possessed us. Haha.
Ok, just picture this -
In the office, Siti sits BEHIND me. Not directly behind me, it’s like this:
SITI
(COLLEAGUE)
ME
For work-related matters – we will communicate verbally to each other.
For random and crazy stuffs – we will leave messages to each other in MSN. We even plan about what to have for lunch via MSN. We always try our best to control our laughter, but sometimes things get outrageously hilarious that we have to let it out.
Anyway, my relationship with Siti – juggling with friendship and working relationship – made me realize that it is fun to work with a good friend. I mean, to be working with someone who is already your friend, someone you already know well.
About a week ago, the two of us talked about it over lunch and somehow an idea popped up that we can gather the whole group of friends and start a business. Afterall, it’s not that difficult to start a small business. The only problem was that, we were cracking our brains on what business to do.
Haha.
Maybe we don’t have any business idea for now… But who knows, in future maybe (I suggested decorating services)? But one thing for sure, that I consider myself lucky to be working in the current environment, working with one of my good friends. Things like these are hard to come by.
Blessed. =)

All Girls Affair Tea
November 20, 2008 at 9:41 pm | In Announcements, Friends, New stuffs, Religion | Leave a CommentHear ye’! Hear ye’! I bring good news to all!
Actually only to the girls. Heh. So the guys can relax one corner ok? Eh, no wait, I take that back! If you are a guy, and have a girlfriend, do spread the word to her and her friends ok ok ok?
Well, the female youth wing of En-Naeem Mosque is organizing an all girls event, which means all girls are invited! We are known as Az-Zahra, which means a beautiful flower *birds chirping sound playing at the background*, and also the name of our beloved Prophet Muhammad’s daughter – Fatimah Az-Zahra.
So click on the poster below for more details, and I know the deadline is TODAY, but I think as long as we can accommodate the space for you, you can still register.
And best of all… IT’S FREE!!!! Erm… okay, that’s like a bad reason to use as a promotion tool… haha… but I am sure it will be informative, fun and strictly girls issues only.
So I hope to see you girls there!
Art Exhibition
November 16, 2008 at 11:51 am | In Friends, Love | 3 CommentsYesterday, I was given the opportunity to attend an arts exhibition, which Zari had free tickets for. So there were Zari Mari, Siti Tun Fatimah, my Pasir Kaki, Tok and me.
No prizes for guessing, it was already a kecoh scene, even before we stepped into the South Beach place.
The exhibitions were mostly nice and pretty, some gave an eerie feel, partly weird and the rest (minority) which I simply had no idea what message the artists were trying to convey. We had lots of fun taking photos though, some scandalistic enough. Lol.
The place was run-down, one of the perfect candidates if you are looking for a haunted place to explore. but don’t count on us girls to try such outings – satu-satu dah memang pengecut, suruh dengar Misteri Jam 12 dah tak berani.
After a few hours walking around the place and cam-whoring, and doing star jumps at one particular artwork, we decided to have a meal, but Tok had to go for his rewang and left us halfway, while us girls continued our journey to satisfy our grumbling tummies.
By the time we reached McDonalds at Marina Square, we were dead beat. But we gave in to our hunger and got up to get food. But in the midst of eating, we godeh2 Fir’s camera and the girls were like scanning through Fir’s friends whom they apparently found cute. Haha. Sempat norh.
After they chose their respective potential guys from the photos, we headed to One Fullerton to hang out at Starbucks. We had to walk along Esplanade, so to us, kalau tak ambik gambar kat situ, tak sah. Oh, we even found one potential for Siti, his name is Rajesh, and he plays a traditional Indian instrument. Lol. We have a picture to justify just how much she’s interested in the fella. =P
And by the time we reached Starbucks@One Fullerton, wow… we were more dead beat than how we were at McDonalds. Plus with my throbbing headache, I had to transform into one makcik for a moment and rubbed the Axe Medicated Oil on my temples and nostrils.
We finally made a move at 9pm and flagged a cab – I could sense the shock in the cab driver uncle’s voice when I said, “Uncle, can go to FOUR places?” Haha.
And I came home, running a fever. Hoho. Took panadols and ZzzZzzzZzzz.
I had a great time yesterday, the camwhoring tak leh angkat la ok. But I think we took lesser number of photos as compared to Hari Raya.
Photos are with Farha, who will be uploading them on FB, but I will share some of the fun photos here soon. =D
